The tools
Painting with a stylus to select and emulate many 2-D medias such as oil paint or charcoal, etc., this process achieves artistic surface qualities like a traditional painting.

Portraits at big events
Creating most of the following quick portraits was the entertainment I provided at conferences, and at a hotel’s large sales receptions. Every 30 minutes or so, guests could walk away with a spontaneous portrait souvenir.
Simple drawing pencils and paper would have sufficed for these events. and often did.
But I brought in a computer with external hard drive (laptops were unusual at the time), installed with Corel’s amazing program called ‘Painter’, plus a Wacom pad and stylus to draw with, a printer to make the guests’ gift copy, along with a small framing setup. I also arranged a camera, projector and screen so crowds could watch the work being created, as well as displayed explanatory & PR materials.
