Quick Studies

I've always been eager to highlight the differences in the unique forms of muscle mass, bone edge, or stretched tendons,

 

The following are examples of quick sculpture studies, most lasting 4 – 6 hours. All were formed directly from a live, posing model, which helps convey some spontaneity.  They are each about 2' tall or long, give or take.

And I particularly admire when the clay’s own natural textures can animate the body’s planes and tensions, in an exciting way that a smoothed-out clay surface may not.
