Inspiration

 

It’s mostly about a personal response, in the moment. Not too many themes or messages found here  -more joy and exploration for its own sake.  Also see 'Why?' in Bio Notes

 

What's important to me in these and other studies, is the inspiration of a unique human form before me, and immersion in the techniques of representing that.  It’s about the process; often more than the product.

Creating many of this site's artworks has been bound by the timeframe of a hired shared model, rather than how I want a 'finished’ work to come out. For instance, the pastel figures below are painted in under 3 hours directly from professional models. They're painted with the same approach, and pastels with watercolor media, as described with some detail on the 'Nude Figures' page.
